Motivation is a key aspect of keeping your life on track. If we’re not motivated, we’re much more likely to waste time and neglect our goals. Are you in a bit of a rut or feeling guilty that you haven’t progressed as much as you thought you would’ve by now? Well don’t be too hard on yourself, even the most determined of us lose steam sometimes. All you need to do is get back up on the horse!
But how? Here’s a few tips to help you get back on track:
( 1 ) Remind yourself of your goals
It’s important to set aside some time to remind yourself of where you started and where you want to go.
( 2 ) Only look back to see where you started
Remember not to look back on the past with regret. Even if you have wasted a bunch of time. The best time to plant a tree was yesterday, but the second best time is TODAY!
( 3 ) Form good habits that help you achieve your goals
Forming new habits is no walk in the park, BUT if you spend a little time on it each day and stay consistent then some of them are bound to stick!
Have you always wondered why making your bed of a morning is supposed to be the most important task of the day? This is because it gives you a small rush of accomplishment early on in the day, which in turn makes the next thing you have to do easier for your brain! Think of a snowball rolling down a hill.. the more small tasks you add to the ball, the larger it gets and the faster it rolls. So prepare yourself for larger tasks by first completing a bunch of small ones first!
( 4 ) Write down a weekly recap and what you are thankful for
You’d be surprised just how far a little bit of positivity can propel you. Bust out a diary at the end of each week and write down everything you’ve achieved, even if you think they’re insignificant. Then while you’re at it, go ahead and write down all the things in your life that you’re thankful for. The act of doing this helps stimulate the reward center of your brain and makes it NEED to continue progressing
( 5 ) Wear a reminder
If all else fails, our motivational bracelets can server as the perfect reminder to stay on track! Here’s a few of our favorite mantras:
